A wonderfully fresh new voice splashes onto the scene with her original vampire/steampunk universe. The land of Sang runs on blud and even the bunnies have fangs. It is also a land of magic, clockwork machinery and of necessity, Victorian dress. In Criminy Stain, Dawson has created a delightful rogue with a dangerously sexy edge. Join the adventure; you won’t be sorry you did!

Nurse Tish Everett is at an estate sale when she discovers a locket. Tish cleans and forces it open, not knowing she has answered the call of a magician and Bludman in another world. That night as she sleeps, Tish finds herself in Sang, face to face with dashing circus ringmaster/bludman Criminy Stain. In Sang, Tish is a stranger looked upon with dark suspicion. She learns that her locket is the key between worlds. In Sang, she has the gift of “glancing,” which makes her a terrific fortuneteller. Then Tish’s locket is stolen, trapping her in Sang. As Criminy and Tish hunt down the locket, they learn a deadly plot is brewing. (POCKET, Apr., 384 pp., $7.99)
