This Pack of St. James novel is dark and passionate. Through the use of a 19th-century London setting, complete with drugs, smuggling, whores and a pack of men who are part wolf, Mack weaves a tale of vengeance, brotherhood and love. The love scenes are highly sensual, vividly written and plentiful, but there are also unrelated moments of gore.

When word gets out that a wolf killer is in town, Kyril works hard to protect his pack while keeping his true love safe. Outside forces draw him and Vivienne together in heated passion, then keep them apart until, in the end, Kyril must fight to save both his love and his pack -- although not everyone makes it.
