When Eva Haines comes to the island to tidy her ailing aunt's home, Silas Lord warns her to stay on her side of the island. But Eva fascinates Silas' daughter, and before long Silas too is captivated. And while the feeling is reciprocated, Eva senses something isn't right about Silas and THE WILD CHILD (3) he's raising away from the world. While Judith Bowen's story is ripe with characters as unique as the flowers that grow on the island, the ending comes abruptly when Silas' secret comes to light and his actions are shrugged off.
