When her son falls ill, a self-assured reporter is forced to contact her ex-lover, a reckless troubleshooter unaware he's a father. As they fight for their child's life, buried feelings of love and passion emerge, but is he ready to trade in his wayward lifestyle for a home in the 'burbs? Although some readers may find the subplot distracting, WILDCATTER'S KID (3) from skillful Penny Richards is teeming with multi-dimensional characters, even pacing and plenty of sizzle.
