WINNING A GROOM IN 10 DATES
WINNING A GROOM IN 10 DATES (4.5) by Cara Colter: Infuriated by an invitation to her ex-fiancé’s engagement party, Sophie Holtzheim is disposing of what’s left of her wedding dreams in a bonfire when her first love, covert operative Brand Sheridan, appears. The next thing she knows, Brand is pretending to be her boyfriend to silence the small-town grapevine, but there’s nothing fake about her feelings for him. Brand’s job keeps him from putting down roots, but after a while, Sophie decides it’s time that changed. By turns funny and deeply emotional, this is far from the standard phony-boyfriend story. The characters are fully realized and Brand, in particular, is very memorable.
