THE WISHING TIDE
by Barbara Davis

Genre: Mainstream, General Mainstream Fiction

RT Rating

Davis has done it again with her latest tale of love. She beautifully entwines stories from both the past and present while establishing a common bond between three incredibly different characters. The Wishing Tide is one of the best stories out there, and Davis is genuinely proving herself to be one of the strongest new voices of epic romance.

Lane Kramer moved to Starry Point, a small North Carolina island, five years ago, sure that it was the perfect place to start her life over. She loves being an innkeeper and forms an interesting friendship with an old woman named Mary Quinn, who arrives on the dunes behind the inn every morning to stare out at the sea. She has also sworn off love — until English professor Michael Forrester winds up on her doorstep after a storm. As their relationship begins to grow, Lane will realize that a decades-old secret could threaten everything, and she must now fight for the life — and love — she wants. (NAL, Sep., 416 pp., $15.00)
