Bast finishes up her Elemental Witches quartet with plenty of fast-paced action and flair. She's done a terrific job setting up the supernatural conflict that comes to a thrilling climax in this book. A tremendous finish to a riveting series!

Following her foster mother's funeral, Sarafina's life takes a harrowing turn when she and her dog Gossett are kidnapped by Stefan Faucheux, CEO of Duskoff International. At first Sarafina thinks Stefan is nuts when he claims she's a "fire witch," but after remembering how her crazy biological mother died, she starts to wonder. When the house where Sarafina is being held is attacked by coven witches, she's captured by earth witch Theo Winters.

Theo thinks Sarafina is in collusion with Stefan. When Sarafina divulges that Stefan was accompanied by an Atrika demon named Bai, the entire coven goes on high alert. How did Bai cross the barrier, and why does he want Sarafina so badly? (BERKLEY SENSATION, Jun., 304 pp., $7.99)
