Book Review

A WITCH'S BEAUTY
by Joey W. Hill

Genre: Paranormal/Urban Fantasy
Sensuality: SCORCHER

RT Rating

In this follow-up to A Mermaid's Kiss, Hill's inconsistent tone, disturbing backstories and main character's need to be cut by her lover overshadow the few bright spots of engaging storytelling.

A powerful half-mermaid Dark Spawn sea witch, Mina fits in nowhere. David, who's assigned to guard her, is a leader in the army of angels dedicated to eliminating Dark Ones like Mina. But he believes her increasing power could be used for good. Despite her struggle with her dark side, Mina and David form a strong emotional and sexual bond that's jeopardized when the two fight the Dark Ones. To save the world from evil, Mina must find the balance between her good and evil selves. (BERKLEY SENSATION, Jan., 400 pp., $15.00)

David and Mina are the very definition of "soul mates" and after reading this book you can't help but believe they exist.
