THE WOLF SIREN
THE WOLF SIREN (4.5) by Karen Whiddon: Rescued a few months earlier from her adoptive father’s abusive cult, shifter Lilly Gideon is terrified to change form; she’d been taught that her wolf is an abomination. When her brother realizes cult members are trying to recapture her, he calls Kane McGraw — who helped rescue her — to help keep her safe. Kane takes Lilly to his family’s compound in upstate New York. There she learns to trust Kane and, in the process, herself. A nice backstory and exciting plot make this a must-read. Whiddon’s talent for pacing is apparent in the skill with which Lilly conquers her fear and learns to live again. The author’s flair for character development is clear as Kane develops into a perfectly sexy hero.
