RT Rating

The ladies who write as Lydia Dare strike a high note in their Regency Werewolves series with this winning entry. A delightful take on the Beauty and the Beast theme with a twist, this novel is sure to enchant and delight. The characters sparkle, from the wicked to the sublime, and the plotting is precise and pleasing.

Lady Madeline can’t believe her eyes when she sees Weston Hadley change into a wolf under the light of the full moon. Unfortunately for them both, he sees her witness the deed. To his mind, once she knows his secret, they must get married. The downside is that he’s penniless while she’s the well-dowered daughter of a duke. Wes is amazed when Maddie escapes her father and runs off with him to Gretna Green to become his bride. Their journey is eventful, to say the least. There’s a merry chase and it seems as if the entire world is on the way home from Scotland — including someone Wes doesn’t want to encounter. (SOURCEBOOKs, Apr., 416 pp., $7.99)
