The final offering in Lindskold's Firekeeper saga is a page-turner,
and the author does a good job of keeping the action moving. The novel's one downside is its length. Make sure
you have plenty of time to enjoy it.
Firekeeper is visited by Meddler and strongly encouraged
to find the source of the fire plague, which affects people who have the ability to use magic. The plague has gone through Nexus Island, and to prevent its spread, the gates between the New and Old Worlds have been shut.
While Firekeeper and Blind Seer try to find the plague's source, Derian and the other Islanders prepare for an invasion by King Bryessidan and his allies. Time runs short for both groups, the battle draws near and the Islanders must deal with a betrayal by one of their own. (TOR, Mar., 532 pp., $27.95)
