WOOING THE SCHOOLMARM (4.5) by Dorothy Clark: Willa Wright, teacher of the Oak Street school in Pinewood Village, is happy that the new church and its pastor are replacing the gossip about her abruptly cancelled wedding. Abandoned by her father, Willa’s ex-fiancé has reinforced her belief that men are selfish and faithless. Reverend Matthew Calvert is responsible for his niece and nephew after the deaths of their parents. Together, they set out to show Willa that all men are not the same — even after her ex-fiancé returns and tries to reclaim her affections. This first entry in the Pinewood Weddings series has a delightful main romance, along with a nice secondary one, and leaves the reader eager for the next visit to Pinewood Village.
