WRANGLED (4.5) by B.J. Daniels: When Zane Chisholm saw the pretty stranger standing on his doorstep, he should have known he was in trouble. The next morning, he wakes up with no memory of the evening and scratches on his face that he can’t explain. Then, Dakota Lansing is pounding on his door, demanding to see her sister. When they find a bloodied dress and a cast-off cell phone, Dakota and Zane go in search of his mystery woman. At the same time, the Chisholms’ housekeeper’s behavior is getting odder and more sinister as the days pass. Daniels’ wrap-up, in this last visit to the Chisholm Ranch and Cattle Company, is spot-on creepy, as it grabs all the hanging threads and weaves them into a tapestry of madness and murder in a manner that will keep readers up late into the night.
