Book Review

by Shelley Costa

Genre: Mystery/Suspense/Thriller, Mystery, Amateur Sleuth

RT Rating

This is a nicely crafted mystery about murder, mysteries, opera and delicious, mouth-watering Italian food. While the story is intriguing, the novel is a little too hectic and filled with too many elements and subplots, making it hard to concentrate on the central murder.

Chef Eve Angelotta works at her family’s Italian restaurant. She’s shocked when she finds the body of her grandmother’s boyfriend on the kitchen floor. After her grandmother’s alibi falls apart and she is arrested for the murder, Eve and her cousins investigate and learn that Grandma’s boyfriend wasn’t exactly who he seemed to be. Can they find out who killed him before another victim is served up? (POCKET, Jun., 311 pp., $7.99)
