Kurland delights readers with a humorous yet touching paranormal romance. Beyond the clever plotting and the time-travel elements, it's the marvelously drawn characters and Kurland's wry sense of humor that make this novel a standout.

Summary: Zachary Smith has had quite enough paranormal activity in his life, and he certainly doesn't want a team of matchmaking ghosts helping him find love. But there's nothing he can do when he walks through a portal into the past to find himself in a dungeon with Mary de Piaget.

Mary would rather dress as a boy and ride like the wind than obey her father and wed the man chosen as her husband. As a historian, Zach's prepared for life in the 13th century, but not for his overwhelming feelings for Mary. He knows he must "leave no footprints" in the past, lest he change history, but when Mary is poisoned he takes her to the future so he won't lose her forever. But the future can be unpredictable, especially when it collides with the past. (JOVE, May, 380 pp., $7.99) HOT
