ONCE DEAD, TWICE SHY
by Kim Harrison

RT Rating:
Category: PARANORMAL ROMANCE
Publisher: HARPERTEEN
Published: July 2009
Type: Urban Fantasy (Young Adult)

Although the beginning is awkward and parts of the novel are hard to follow, this is a great young adult debut for Harrison. The story is very original and imaginative, and there are several good plot twists.

Summary: Madison died on prom night, and right now she's hiding from the guy who killed her. Not quite alive, but not completely dead, she's just trying to be a normal teenager. But when her guardians disappear and leave her a mess of trouble, she must rely on Josh, whom she barely knows, and a beginner guardian angel. As they struggle to evade the dark reapers who will kill her for good, Madison must discover why she was targeted in the first place. (HARPERTEEN, Jul., 240 pp., $16.99) MILD
