2012 Convention Overview
Workshops are the focal point of the five-day RT Booklovers Convention with more than 100 to choose from. The workshops are offered in three comprehensive programs designed for Readers, Writers and Booksellers/Librarians — however, ALL workshops are open to ALL attendees so you can pick and choose which ones you are interested in and which authors’ workshops you want to attend.
We're looking forward to seeing our fellow book lovers in Chicago this year and to celebrate our return to the mid-west we've made some changes to our convention program. Among the changes is that we've added a special Self-Publishing track that will help authors decide how to take advantage of the new opportunities available to them. Additionally this is the year of the reader and to that end there will be more reader panels, games and chances to spend time with your favorite authors than ever before. This year's highlights include our second annual Teen Day, genre-focused author chats that with fan-favorites such as Susan Elizabeth Phillips and Nalini Singh and all-new parties and events! To get a more detailed picture of what you can expect at the 2012 RT Booklovers Convention, check out the links below!
This year we have expanded our Readers' Program to include dozens of workshops, panels and parties! Readers are invited to attend any of the workshops on the general agenda, but the Readers' Program is specifically designed for fans who are looking for fun and games (and more than just a few giveaways!) We have also organized a slew of much anticipated Author Chats where bestselling authors get up close and personal about their books and careers and sometimes will disclose what’s ahead for readers. This year some of the superstars you’ll meet at the chats are Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Charlaine Harris, Nalini Singh, Loretta Chase, Mary Balogh, Jeaniene Frost and mre! Check out the Reader Program below but be sure to check frequently for updates and additions.

BOOK SELLER/LIBRARIAN PROGRAM
Nowhere are booksellers and librarians more supported and celebrated than at the RT Booklovers Convention. This year’s program is designed to help established owners reinvent themselves to keep up with the rapidly changing bookselling market while also supporting new owners. Our workshops will focus on competing in the online market, helping you to create a better presence in your community and online and find new ways to reinvent your store in the marketplace. Our seminars are serious and cutting edge and always feature round table discussions because we know that all of our community has something special to offer. These bookseller workshops are unlike any other industry event because we focus on helping you network with dozens of booksellers and meet and make friends with over 300 published authors who are thrilled to meet you and want to know about your store or library. In addition to the many Costume Balls and themed parties we sponsor for all, the booksellers and librarians get some extra perks: we have mega authors pop-in as surprise visitors at seminars, we have amazing baskets we raffle off through out the convention and fabulous welcome bags filled with goodies and premiums you can bring back to your customers and patrons. See below for the full Bookseller/Librarian Program.
