KLathleen Kane Dishes About Her DREAMWEAVER

Dreams are magical things. I only wish I could remember more of mine. I usually wake up knowing only that Id been having a great time doing...whatever. But once in a while, a dream stays with me long enough to take some notes.

Dreamweaver, my December release from St. Martin's Press, is a prime example. This was one of those gift books you hear writers talk about on those rare occasions when we step out from behind our computers. Somehow, someway, the idea-- characters, plot and all -- settled into one long dream for me. As far as Im concerned, that kind of thing happens far too seldom to be ignored.

So Meara Simon, Dreamweaver, was born. She's an Irish girl with a smart mouth and a generous heart. In the Dream World, it's her job to guard the dreams of children. But when she makes a mistake and angers the Dream Master, shes sent to Earth by her good friend to hide out until things calm down.

This same friend drops her through the roof of Connor James' house. Connor's used to trouble. Nothing in his life has come easily, nor will the wild eyed redhead who falls through his roof and into his heart.

Unfortunately, by the time Connor figures out that Meara's the woman of his dreams, her time is up and she must return to the Dream World.

Thankfully, Connor doesn't give up that easily.

I had a lot of fun with Meara and Connor. I love a woman who's always a step or two ahead of her man!

St. Martins has given Dreamweaver a fabulous cover that captures the whimsical nature of this story. I hope you'll look for it and let me know what you think.

Thanks to all of you who have written to me. I love to hear from readers. Send letters to P.O. Box 1883, Westminster, CA 92684-1883.
