BERTRICE SMALL HEATS UP THE HOLIDAYS ...with Her Latest Erotic Blockbuster!
Hugh Fauconier is the nicest hero I have ever created. Neither handsome, wealthy nor powerful, he is a pleasant-looking, hard-working knight, loyal to King Henry I. Sent to Langston Manor to secure it and marry its heiress, Isabelle, Hugh arrives to learn the lovely girl has kept all in working order despite her youth. He sets about wooing the prickly, hot-tempered girl, calling her "ma Belle douce," meaning "sweet Belle." She calls him a great gawk of a man. Isabelle's serfs call her "Belle from Hell."
The two battle back and forth, but Belle finally agrees to obey the king's directive to marry Hugh. Still, even after the marriage their verbal sparring continues despite their wonderful nights of erotic abandon. Yet it is soon clear to all that Belle and Hugh have come to love one another.
King Henry, a childhood friend of Hugh's, sends him to Duke Robert's court in Normandy to learn if the duke plans an invasion of England for the following year. Hugh disappears, and no one seems to know where he is. Determined to find her husband, Isabelle disguises herself as a boy falconer and, in the company of one of her own men, goes to France. Picking up Hugh's trail she is led to La Citadelle, a castle in Brittany ruled over by Vivienne de Bretagne, and her brother Guy. The de Bretagne are a race of sorcerers, and greatly feared. It is here that Belle finds her husband.
Sensuous, amoral, wicked and extraordinarily beautiful, it would appear that Vivienne and her brother have ensorceled Hugh. He is a different man, cruel and brutal, with virtually no memory of his former life. Devastated, Belle decides to stay, and somehow help her husband overcome the sorcery, and find his way back. Unfortunately, Guy de Bretagne discovers the boy is a girl. Delighted, he takes her for his new sexual toy, revealing to Belle a dark side of passion. Her own life is in jeopardy at the hands of this dangerous man who now rules her every move, and gains pleasure from taking her beyond the brink of desire into a sensual world of both sweetness and pain.
