With THE INVISIBLE RING, I wanted to write a story about the Blood when they were still standing on the brink of a world about to go terribly wrong. I wanted to write a story about people who were going to be faced with the choice of giving in to what was happening all around them or fighting to hold on to what was good. So I sent a notorious Queen and her newly purchased slaves on a journeyand watched two journeys unfold: the physical journey to the Gray Ladys Territory and Jareds journey within himself.

Jared is a Red-Jeweled Warlord who, because of a youthful error in judgment, has been a pleasure slave for the past nine years. Bitter and disillusioned, and no longer believing in the code of honor his father had taught him, he sets out with the rest of the Gray Ladys slaves.

Somewhere along the way, between the muddy roads, the traps, and the dangers that seem to lurk around every curve, he realizes he has to make a choice. He can do the safe thing and remain a slave, or he can struggle to become the man he was meant to beand in that struggle, possibly find again the shining brightness of honor and, also, love.

Ive always loved stories and wanted to tell stories of my own. Please visit my website at: or e-mail me at anne-bishop
