Message From The Author

Author's Message

I got the cowboy -and it's all because I attended the Romantic Times conference in San Diego three years ago. It was there that two of the hottest writers in the industry approached me.

"We want to talk to you," Leanne Banks announced with a smile that could charm the stripes off a zebra. "Have we got a deal for you," Susan Connell added, layering on her own brand of charm like tiers on a wedding cake as they sat me down with a cool iced tea and enough creative energy to launch a Patriot missile.

Once they'd outlined Susan's idea to develop a unique and ground-breaking trilogy, I latched onto the plan like sweet on sugar. What a trip to be working with two such talented authors! We kicked around several story ideas until Leanne hatched the brilliant nucleus for the plot that was to become the Sons and Lovers mini-series.

As these provocative stories of three brothers began to unfold and take root deep in our hearts, I knew that my brother had to exemplify the heart, soul, and lone-wolf aloofness of America's truest and most beloved hero. And that's how I got the cowboy.

This glimpse from book one, LUCAS: THE LONER, will help you see why the story and the man are so compelling to me.

Lucas leaned deep into her body, craving the contact that both eased and intensified his need. It had been so long and Kelsey was everything her sassy femininity promised. Electric, untamed energy. Fluid, flowing sexuality. He couldn't get enough of her mouth. And when any sane man would have been satisfied, he damned himself for a fool and went back for more.

I'm thrilled to be a part of this special project for Silhouette Desire. You'll want to be a part of it, too. For three of the most intriguing men you'll ever have the pleasure of meeting, don't miss LUCAS: THE LONER, in January '96, followed by REESE: THE UNTAMED in February, and RIDGE: THE AVENGER in March.

Besides, now that you know I got the cowboy, don't you want to know who Susan and Leanne got?
