Theres a product you want. You know where it is, what aisle, maybe even the shelf. But when you decide to go buy it, the marketers have re-arranged the bloomin store. Nothing is the same. Even the manufacturers have changed the labels!

Thats where my heroine, Jenna, is after her wedding plans fall through. Returning the gifts leads to a search for the father she thought was killed when she was an infant. Rejected and hungry for love, Jenna travels to a modern Edenthe Peruvian Amazon rainforestwhere she finds a new product she wasnt even looking for on the shelvesuh, trees: a jungle hunk of a doctor in need of an attitude adjustment. (You know, that is the grocery stores intention when they rearrange thingsto get you
to look at new products.)

Now you only went in for your tried-and-true item, but instead, you have this new, spicier version in hand. Youre not even sure you can tolerate it, no matter how intriguing the packaging is. As you contemplate it, youre offered a sample. WOW! Okay, maybe if you read the label and see whats in it, it might just work.

Hmmmnot bad. Toss it in the cart, in case you cant find the safer fare.

Likewise, Jenna isnt sure about the brooding, yet sometimes roguishly charming Dr. Adam De Santo. He seems determined to prove to her that the exotic setting of the jungle medical compound that he and her father run is not exactly Eden.

If she could have read the fine print in the depths of his mercurial gaze, erlabel, shed have found that he contained an additivean anxiety that hed fall in love with her, a folly he intends to avoid at all cost.

By the time Jenna gets to the checkout, she has a heart-load more of misadventure, family, and true love than she came for. So thats all I can say. Except, if you havent guessed by now, NOT EXACTLY EDEN is a romantic comedya cross between Romancing the Stone and a jungle-set ER.

Linda Windsors first inspirational romantic comedy for Multnomah Palisades was HI HONEY IM HOMEa 1999 finalist in the Golden Quill and Beacon Awards, now in its third printing.
