A Suitable Bodyguard

I can't wait until A SUITABLE BODYGUARD hits the stands. I'm still reeling from the experience of The Father Factor. There were a score of letters from fans, all telling me how much they loved the book. But it was the many responses recounting similar experiences to Heather's situation that brought tears to my eyes. I answer each letter individually, but I'd like to publicly thank all my fans for sharing their stories with me. The Father Factor was nominated for three Romantic Times Reviewers' Choice awards (including Best Series of the Year), a Literary Times Award for Outstanding Contemporary and it won the Holt Medallion. The piece de resistance was its nomination for the Janet Dailey Award-truly a dream come true for me.

A SUITABLE BODYGUARD has begun to accrue some of its own fame-the advance reviews have been terrific. This book is very different from The Father Factor and I'm glad of that. It's an intrigue, for one thing, and contains a stalker you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley. But the best aspect of the book is the love story.

At the outset, Cord believes Stacey is off-limits-and she is. But she's unaware of the connection he has with her past which makes any future for them impossible. So Stacey won't let him go without a fight. She wins, of course, though there is much heartache along the way. I like Stacey's determination and her sass, and I admire Cord's nobility and honest attempt to set right the wrongs he committed years ago. I also like it that their care and concern for each other eclipses their own needs. I hope my readers care about them as much as I do.

Another Superromance, MICHAEL'S FAMILY, is coming out in Feb. '97 and a fourth in Aug. '97. Hearing from fans is a great part of this business. Write to me at P.O. Box 24288, Rochester, New York, 14624-0288.
