Inspirational author Dan Walsh chats with RT Reviewer Leslie McKee in this special author interview. Walsh shares a look behind the scenes of his stories, talks about his writing process and reveals some of the authors whose works inspire him!
Leslie McKee: As a former pastor, how did you get started in writing and are you still working as a pastor?
Dan Walsh: It’s probably fair to say I’m not a pastor who became a writer, but a writer who became a pastor. It’s something I’ve wanted to do since my 11th grade composition class (partly due to the inspiration of a wonderful teacher). I set the writing aside when I experienced a call to ministry. In 2007, I began writing again and we were able to sign the contract for my first book before the year ended. I wrote part-time from then until last September, when I retired from pastoral ministry after 25 years to write full-time.
