RT BOOK REVIEWS: The Katerina Trilogy is all about Katerina Alexandrovna, the teenage Duchess of Oldenberg. What first intrigued you about her character?
ROBIN BRIDGES: When I first came up with the idea for The Gathering Storm, I thought about using a real person to base my main character upon, someone like Grand Duchess Xenia or Dariya of Leuchtenberg. But instead I created a completely imaginary character for Katerina, someone whose ultimate destiny couldn’t be found in any history books. I wanted her to be someone who didn’t quite want what everyone else wanted. I wanted a bright young girl who had a dream, but a lot of obstacles in obtaining her dream.

A New History

I love it when authors take something from the past and recreate it into some wholly originally their own.
After reading up on this title in the magazine and online I became hooked on the concept. I would love to read this new fresh addition to YA.

After reading the synopsis, the most exciting part of Katerina's character, to me, is that she can raise the dead. I would love to meet someone who would be able to do such a thing, and after reading further, all I could think about was how unique this plot is. I could only imagine what the conflicts would be! Either way I know I will pick this series up no matter what, winning a copy would just be something extra special.

I would love to meet Katerina because she seems to be an amazing woman. I was going to say girl but if you have the power to raise the dead and actually deal with the fact that you have a supernatural power then you are most definitely old enough to be called a woman. Also another reason i would love to meet her is because she sounds like a strong female lead character that knows how to handle most of the tough situations that she will face.
I always love reading the first book in a new series! Thank you for the opportunity to win Robin Bridges' "Gathering Storm!"

I 've been reading all about this book on the website and the magazine. The cover is beautiful! I would love to meet Katerina because she seems like a heroine that is stuck with an ability that others despise. I'd love to meet her and see how she feels about the other mean people at her school and how she is overcoming the pressure from them to be happy and achieve her dreams
