Have you ever been reading a book and desperately wanted to ask the author a question about the story? Now you can with Amazon's @author. Amazon's latest development helps connect readers with authors and fellow fans to make the reading experience more immersive. @author allows Kindle readers to ask authors questions directly from the e-book that they are are reading. These questions are posted to the authors' amazon pages, where they can be answered by the authors themselves or other fans.
Although the @author feature is only in limited beta release, it already has some fantastic authors associated with it. For example fiction authors Brad Meltzer, J.A. Konrath, and C.J. Lyons, as well as non-fiction authors Timothy Ferriss and Robert Kiyosaki have already signed onto the project.
If you are interested in checking out the program but don’t know where to start, here are a few of our favorite titles by some of the fiction writers who are already participating in @author:

How does @author work? Readers can post their questions from their kindles and then authors or fellow readers can respond with the answer. (Readers who do not have kindles can post their questions to the author’s Amazon page.) This way anyone who knows the answer can pipe up but you are just as likely to get the response to your question from the author as you are from another reader.
