Book Hankering 2014: Romance!

Happy New Year, readers! The best thing about the new year, in our humble opinions anyway, is all the new books to look forward to! We don’t know about you, but there are an awful lot of books we’re hankering for in 2014. In the hopes that you’ll join us in obsessing, over the next week we’ll be listing our most anticipated books of 2014, by genre. Today, we’ve saved the best for last with romance!

Romancing the Duke by Tessa Dare

Releases February 2014

It’s possible we’re cheating a little bit on this one because <whispers> we already read it. And man is it good! Dare’s Castles Ever After series debuts with this title, and it’s pure delight. There’s a haunted castle, a brooding hero and a whole lotta angst. Read this one. Trust us.

Between the Devil and Ian Eversea by Julie Anne Long

Releases April 2014

If you’re a fan of Julie’s Pennyroyal Green series — and seriously, how could you not be? — you’ve been waiting for Olivia’s book since the very beginning — and this April release sets up Olivia’s story! We. Can’t. Wait.

Taken with You by Shannon Stacey

Releases April 2014

We’re huge contemporary fans, and Shannon just gets the genre, she can write realistic characters with understandable conflicts. So when we heard her latest release stars a 40-year-old heroine, well, we put the title right on our list.

The Will by Kristen Ashley

Releases April 2014

The thing that’s awesome about being a KA fan is that she writes so quickly and prolifically, it seems as if there’s always something new to read. And 2014 will bring us that sweetest of beginnings, a new series! The Will starts the Magdalene series, featuring a boxer hero, and we’re excited already.

Brown-Eyed Girl by Lisa Kleypas

Releases September 2014

Joe is finally getting his own book! It’s Lisa’s fourth Travis title, which fans have been hankering for. (Although to be fair, we’re basically always hankering for a new Lisa Kleypas romance.) Lisa recently teased this line from the book, “There was more pleasure in that kiss than in any act of physical intimacy I had ever known” — and now we really can’t wait for September.

Never Judge a Lady by her Cover by Sarah MacLean

Releases August 2014

After the big reveal at the end of No Good Duke Goes Unpunished, we’re dying to know the real story behind Chase, lead Scoundrel and head of the Fallen Angel gambling hell. MacLean promises even more surprises are in store, and as this series has been getting better and better, we can’t wait for the finale. (No pressure, Sarah!)

Rogue Spy by Joanna Bourne

Releases November 2014

Joanna releases a book every few years, and it always feels like waiting for Christmas in between. It seems like secrets, spies and sexiness are all in store for us! C’mon, November!

Untitled by Susan Elizabeth Phillips

Releases 2014?

All right, here’s another book we’re not 100 percent sure is hitting shelves in 2014, but if it does, rest assured we’ll be first in line to read it. SEP teases on her website: “My current book [is] done and I’m in the editing process right now. I do have a title, which I will be announcing soon. No publication date yet. The book contains new characters, including a VERY dangerous hero. (Or is he the villain?) The setting is fresh to me, and I have a heroine I adore.” ALL THE GRABBY HANDS EVER.

Did we pick any of your favorites? Miss an obvious title? Let us know below! That's it for our 2014 book lists. Happy reading, friends!
