Will watched her go with regret. His attraction to the dark-haired lady with her execrable embroidery had taken him by surprise. She’d been laughing at his brothers—that was what had done it. Her eyes had sparkled with humor, her smiling lips just begging for a kiss.

Will sighed. He was here on serious business and could not afford to be distracted.

James scratched his chest and yawned. “Who was she, Will?”

Morgan & Whitney Dish: Beg For Mercy By Jami Alden

BY RT BOOK REVIEWS, JUNE 24, 2011 | PERMALINK

In Jami Alden's new romantic suspense Beg for Mercy, heroine Megan Flynn is racing against the ticking clock of her imprisoned brother’s execution date. Will she be able to convince Detective Cole Williams to reopen the case of a man he believes is guilty of a heinous crime?

Whitney: This is my favorite romantic suspense to come along in a while. The romantic relationship is so tortured, the killer is so evil, this was literally a story I did not want to put down.

Morgan: Agreed. Right now I am riding high on the whole resurgence great romantic suspense out there (waving at Maya Banks, Marie Force and Jayne Ann Krentz). And this has got to be, hands down, the best I’ve read in a long time. It was intensely thrilling, but the romance was still there — lurking behind every piece of dialogue, every action.

Whitney: Beg for Mercy really did read like a return to the early days of romantic suspense. Fans of classic Kay Hooper, Linda Howard and Catherine Coulter novels will devour this tale.

BY RT BOOK REVIEWS, JUNE 23, 2011 | PERMALINK

In recognition of Gay Pride Month, today we are chatting with YA author Lauren McLaughlin who is best known for her non traditional series,  Cycler and (Re) Cycler. In these books the heroine, Jill, lives for four days every month as a boy named Jack. Says RT’s Kate Girard of the series first, Cycler, “There is nothing about this story that is ordinary, and yet this tale about struggling through life as a teen will feel as familiar to readers as if it is their own while simultaneously inspiring deep reflection on what it is to be ‘normal’.” Today the author talks about her tales of love and identity, and offers three good resources for teens (and families) that want to learn more about transgender issues.
