Exciting news for romance readers: Today publisher Grand Central announced that it is expanding its romance imprint, Forever, and digital romance imprint, Forever Yours. While the average yearly output for Forever has been around 60 books a year, this new initiative will increase that number to 120 titles in 2013 and 190 titles in 2014!
Forever is known for publishing a wide range of romance genres. From historical romance bestselling authors Jennifer Haymore and Paula Quinn to popular contemporary writers Bella Riley and Jill Shalvis, to Larissa Ione's dark paranormals, Forever consistently produces books that we want to read. And during the last few years, the editors have also made some terrific finds in debut authors, most notably Kristen Callihan, the amazing talent behind the Darkest London paranormal/historical series and rising Regency star Vicky Dreiling.
The doubling of titles over the next few years has us wondering what's next from Forever. Since the company recently acquired self-published books by Jessica Sorensen and J.A. Redmerski, we can safely say that New Adult will be a spotlight genre for the line. Additionally, Amy Pierpont, the Editorial Director for Forever, says that erotica author Kelli Maine and beloved fan favorites Laura London and Lucy Monroe will be joining the Grand Central family.
Earlier today, Ms. Pierpont explained what this growth will mean for readers:
The goal of Forever/Forever Yours is to bring readers the best and brightest voices in the romance genre. With this expansion, we’re able to publish books in even more genres, which means we’ll have many more new and 'new to you' authors for readers to discover! We’re now publishing erotica, New Adult, and m/m in addition to the traditional genres.
We couldn't be more thrilled for more romance titles, especially from Forever Yours. This e-first arm of the publishers is focusing on bringing authors' works to the masses quickly, ensuring we get what's hot while it's still hot!
To make sure that its focus stays on readers, Forever is reaching out to fans for their opinions. "We’ve got our ear to the ground to hear what readers are saying about the books they love, and the books they want to read," says Pierpont. "With the expansion, we’re more eager than ever for readers to stop by our Facebook page or send us a tweet (@Foreverromance) and let us know what kind of books they’re dying to read."
