With a unique setting, an exciting spin on Japanese mythology and a romance sweet and troubled enough to make us swoon, Ink by Amanda Sun was definitely one of our favorites of 2013. And now that it’s 2014, the wait for the sequel, Rain, is almost over! Today we have an exclusive first look at the cover and a chance to win a signed copy of Ink!
After deciding to stay in Japan, Katie discovers life isn’t as easy as she thought it would be, especially since Tomohiro, the guy she’s in love with, is a Kami, a descendant of ancient Japanese gods whose drawings come to life. When Tomo stops drawing and his powers find other ways of controlling his life, Katie turns to Jun, a former friend, and Kami, who may not have the best of intentions. Will Katie and Tomo finally unravel the truth behind Tomo’s powers before it’s too late?
Isn’t it GORGEOUS?! The cool color scheme, the leaf in the water at the bottom and Tomo making his cover debut all add up to a stunning piece of eye candy! The tone of the cover is a little darker than that of the first book, and we can’t help but wonder if it’s a sign of what’s to come in the story.
We’re not the only ones who love the cover. Author Amanda said, “I am so thrilled with the cover of Rain … I’m so proud to have Tomo join Katie on the cover. I feel strongly about diversity in YA, so to have a male Asian MC on the cover is a fantastic feeling.”
If you want to catch up on the series before Rain releases in June, enter to win a signed copy of Ink below! The giveaway is open to U.S. and Canadian readers.
