Elyssa Patrick's Favorite Four Weddings And A Break Up

In Elyssa Patrick’s Four Weddings and a Break Up, a fake relationships becomes real — one of our favorite tropes! Enamored as we were by Elyssa’s title, we decided to make her tell us her very favorite four weddings and a break up from pop culture. Take it away, Elyssa.

Wedding #1: One of the biggest weddings in the last few years was when Kate Middleton married Prince William. I woke up early to watch and loved every minute of it.

Wedding #2: A wedding is the focus of It Happened One Wedding by Julie James. In this laugh-out-loud, sexy contemporary romance, Sidney and Vaughn don’t get off on the right foot. In fact, their first meeting is the classic “meet cute goes wrong.” These two soon discover that they’ll be seeing a lot more of each other when her sister and his brother announce they’re getting married. Slowly but surely, their mutual dislike turns into something a whole lot hotter … and feels an awful lot like love.

Wedding #3: In Laura Florand’s Sun-Kissed, the focus centers on an older couple in their fifties. This heart-achingly romantic story takes place at Mack Corey’s youngest daughter’s wedding, which Anne Winter has perfectly planned. Anne and Mack have been next-door neighbors and friends for the last 20 years. Although Anne is determined to keep things status quo, Mack is having none of that; he’s finally going to go after the woman he can’t stop thinking about. And he moves heaven and earth to convince her to take a chance on love.

Wedding #4: Another one of my favorite weddings takes place in the movie Four Weddings and a Funeral. Actually I pretty much loved all the weddings in the film, but I particularly enjoy the scenes when the priest keeps messing up the lines because he’s so nervous.

Break Up: As for break ups, one of the ultimate break ups for me was in Margaret Mitchell’s Gone With the Wind. I first devoured this book as a teen. I couldn’t get enough, but I was completely devastated by its ending. It made me want to read and write books where the couples found a way back to each other, despite all the odds stacked against them.

Rest assured Elyssa’s Four Weddings and a Break Up — out now — has that all-important HEA! For more contemporary love stories, wedding-set and otherwise, be sure to visit our Everything Romance page.
