My name is Megan and I am a Karina Halle addict. It’s no secret among my fellow book friends that I love Karina Halle’s novels. After reading her Experiment in Terror series, I was hooked on Halle’s distinctive writing style and the fantastically flawed characters she crafts. I will drop whatever I’m doing to read a new Karina Halle book. When I heard she was working on a new series, The Artists Trilogy, about a con woman and a sexy tattoo artist with glasses, I couldn’t wait to read it.

Sins & Needles, book one, drew me in with the telling of Ellie Watt and Camden McQueen’s unconventional love story and then spit me out with its hurt-so-good ending. In On Every Street, the prequel, we learn Ellie's backstory and her relationship with her ex-lover, the mysterious, dark and seductive drug lord, Javier Bernal. Ellie and Javier’s magnetic connection made me question my undying love for Camden McQueen. I know what you’re thinking, “Who can top Camden?” Well, Javier gives Camden a run for his money. In fact, many Camden lovers have jumped the Camden ship and hopped aboard the hot mess express known as Team Javier. Don’t worry, Team Camdenites, I’m still on his side…for now.

After the heart-stopping end to Sins & Needles, Camden has his work cut out for him. In Halle's upcoming Shooting Scars, he will be fighting for Ellie, the love of his life. Told in both Ellie and Camden’s points of view, Shooting Scars is sure to deliver the suspenseful twists and turns seen in Sins & Needles, as well as the steamy and twisted sexiness seen in On Every Street.

Today we are getting the first look at Halle's drool-worthy cover for Shooting Scars, which, in my opinion, is the perfect depiction of Camden McQueen. Like the tattooed creature on his back who is leaping up, Camden must rise, like a phoenix from the ashes, to do whatever it takes to rescue his woman, no matter the cost. Ellie has described Camden as a “tattooed and pierced sex on a stick,” and I have to agree with her. He is literally a walking piece of art with a body full of tattoos and sculpted muscles. According to Ellie, his arms are sleeved, full of “a mixture of skulls, animals, and campiness.” A short scripture can be seen peeking out from his boxers (ahem), and crawling up the side of his stomach is picture of a tiger/dragon hybrid. Use your zoom feature, my friends, and admire Camden McQueen in all of his beautiful, ripped, tattooed glory.

I know I am not the only one who is not-so-patiently awaiting the August 20th release of Shooting Scars published by Grand Central Publishing. I am dying to know what will happen next. Will Ellie backslide into her old ways? What will Camden have to endure in order to rescue Ellie? And most importantly, what's going to happen to Ellie’s car, José? While you're waiting, why not check out Karina Halle's other novels? The worst that can happen is that you'll become an addict of one of the best authors of our time, in my humbly obsessed opinion.
