First Photo From the Fallen Film Released
When the news broke that the film rights for Lauren Kate’s Fallen had been optioned, I pretty much had a full-on freak out. In my post-Twilight days, I fell in love with Kate’s engrossing series about fallen angels and star-crossed romance. And to see it come to life on the big screen? Well, color me excited.
And then the lead actors were announced and this pretty much sums up my reaction:
Casting is hard, I get it, but with so many YA adaptations getting it wrong, I was so, so happy and relieved that Addison Timlin and Jeremy Irvine met my expectations and more. While I haven’t seen any of Timlin’s previous work, she has an impressive resume and she looks how Luce looks in my mind. And Mr. Irvine is perfection. I’m swooning already. He’s exactly the kind of guy and actor I envisioned to portray Daniel.
UGH. WHY IS HE SO CHARMING?
And as more casting announcements were made, the more excited I became. Harrison Gilbertson seems like he'll make the perfect Cam. Since I'm Team Daniel, though, this casting wasn't nearly as important to me, haha. My only reservation is the actress set to play Penn, Luce’s best friend. Physically, she’s not how I picture Penn, but I’m sure her acting chops will make up for it. And that’s what really matters, I suppose.
The movie was filmed in a realtively short amount of time and was shot in Budapest, which seems like an odd choice since the story is set in Savannah, Georgia. On-set photos popped up on Instagram and Twitter, but with such a quick turnaround and us being busy with the RT Convention, I somehow missed the release of the first official image:
L-R: Harrison Gilbertson (Cam), Addison Timlin (Luce) and Jeremy Irvine (Daniel)
This. THIS! There is so much perfection going on in the photo that I Just can’t handle it. The actors look spectacular, especially Irvine and Timlin. Can we all appreciate the fact that Timlin’s wearing a fancy black dress reminiscent of the one gracing the book cover? My reaction:
