Forewords - The Books Before The Buzz

With our column, Forewords, we let readers know the latest book news about some of the web team's most-anticipated upcoming releases across the genres — just as the projects are announced!

Romantic Suspense - Get ready for Wilde Nights in Paradise, the sexy romance kicking off Ronya Burrows’ new Wilde Security series, about three ex-military brothers who find happily ever afters with the women they’ve sworn to protect. The Wilde Security series, which begins Fall 2013, will be tied to the author’s upcoming Hornet series. The first book, SEAL of Honor, hits shelves in May!

Urban Fantasy - If you thought Yasmine Galenorn’s Otherworld series was coming to a close, think again! Fans can expect three more books about the half-human, half-fae D’Artigo sisters, as well as an Otherworld novella and two books in the author’s new Otherworld spin-off series, Fly By Night. Release dates: TBA.

Paranormal Romance - Did you enjoy Demon Hunting in a Dive Bar? Then you’re in luck, because Lexi George has three more books in her Demon Hunter series titled Demon Hunting With A Dixie Deb. The author’s fourth Demon Hunter book will follow an upbeat Southern heiress whose glamorous life turns paranormal when she’s accidentally infused with fairy essence. Readers can meet Dixie Deb in Spring 2014.

Historical Romance - Kim Boykin is moving from modern beauty salons to 1952 high society, but she’s staying in the south in her next book, Postcards From Darby Rose. This book will feature a bride who skips out on her lavish Charleston wedding, heads to the countryside and meets a charming cafe owner. But her plans of small town love are thwarted when her father comes looking for her. Expect this title to hit shelves Summer 2014.

Young Adult - If you only had fifteen days to live, would you go down without a fight? The teen heroine of Kate Ormand’s Dark Days certainly won't. When she learns she has a little more than two weeks before a cyborg army destroys her sector. Will she (and a certain handsome guy) be able to stop the cyborgs in time? Find out in Spring 2014.

Series Romance - With an attractive Chicago detective by her side, here's hoping the heroine of Beverly Long’s upcoming Harlequin Intrigue won't be Dead By Wednesday. Get this suspenseful story in 2014.

Mystery - Duane Swierczynski’s next crime thriller won’t feature a detective, a PI, a special agent or an amateur sleuth. Rather, Crime Book will focus on the risks a group of college-aged confidential informants take acting as undercover liaisons for law enforcement, and the book’s heroine is supposedly unlike any the author has ever written. Release date: TBA.

Romantic Suspense - Susannah Sandlin’s nine-episode e-serial Storm Force kicks off March 19, with a new episode releasing each week. The novel chronicles a counter-terrorism agent as he tries to stop a dangerous environmental activist group involved in a Texas bombing. But he finds something even more threatening — a deadly battle between humans and ancient paranormal forces. The story is available for pre-order now on Amazon.

Urban Fantasy - Jamie Schultz will debut with her first novel, Premonitions, about a mercenary who’s forced to take work from a devious crime lord in order to afford a costly, rare drug that prevents her from hallucinating the future. Pitched as Stephen King meets Ocean’s Eleven, we’re looking forward to seeing if this heroine can use her powers for good! Release date: TBA.

Patrick Lee, author of the bestselling novel The Breach, returns with another yet-to-be-titled thriller about an ex-special ops agent, and although the story has no name, it does have a film deal! We’re hoping whoever this mystery agent is, he’s just as gripping as Lee’s Travis Chase!

These are this week's deals that we can’t wait to hear more about in the coming months. Check back every Monday for more Forewords and you can always visit our Upcoming Releases Page!
