AUTO BUY AUTHORS
Paranormal Romance - Gena Showalter will be releasing four more books in her popular Lords of the Underworld series. She will also be working with Harlequin on a brand new series that netted the author a seven-figure deal.
Contemporary Romance - Bestselling author Sherryl Woods has also just signed a seven-figure deal for her next six novels, and we can’t wait for more of her special brand of modern-day love!
Erotica – Those looking to spice up their reading habits are in luck, Berkley Heat has just announced that they will be publishing two more contemporary erotic romances from the sizzling pen of Lauren Dane.
Thriller - Dale Brown and Jim DeFelice will be releasing the next two books in their Dreamland series. These will be books thirteen and fourteen in this series that began in 2001.
Urban Fantasy - Seanan Mcguire has just sold the sixth and seventh novels in her ongoing Toby Daye novels that follow the adventures of a half-fairy in a dark and dangerous human world.
Paranormal Romance - Sherrilyn Kenyon and Dianna Love have pleased fans with their co-written tales, and their Bellador tales are no exception. Now these authors are teaming up again to offer two more books in their Bellador series.
NEW SERIES ALERT
Historical Fiction - British historian Hallie Rubenhold will be releasing a new series beginning with the novels Mistress of My Fate and The French Lesson. These books follow a teenage aristocrat who travels through Europe during times of turmoil.
Mystery - Anna Lee Huber's Lady Darby Mystery series will start with A Fatal Portrait and include at least two more books. In the series starter, the aforementioned Lady Darby has stumbled onto a murder and must work to clear her own name after the gentleman investigating the crime declares her guilty.
Fantasy - Anne Bishop, best known for her Black Jewels books, will be releasing a new series from Roc. No word yet on when the first book, Blood Prophet, will be released.
Contemporary Romance - Author Anne Elizabeth will be launching her new West Coast Navy SEAL series in 2012 and is slated to include at least three books. The first story will follow psychoanalyst who uses her considerable skills to help a hunky SEAL overcome his memory loss and return to active duty. Just the type of assignment we’d be glad to get!
Historical Romance - Pitched as a new take on Dangerous Liaisons, Tiffany Clare’s new romance series, set during the Victorian era, will feature four friends who rush into a life of pleasure and seduction only to realize they are not prepared for all that comes with their new lifestyle.
EXCITING DEBUT AUTHORS
Woman’s Fiction - Five days before she says "I do", a bride-to-be kisses the wrong man, which gets her thinking about the future and what she really wants in Beth Vogt's debut Wish You Were Here.
Mystery - Scotland Yard detectives known as "the Murder Squad" are all set to solve crimes in Victorian London in Alex Grecian's first two novels The Yard and The Black Country.
NON FICTION PICK
Memoir - Bree Housley recounts the true story of her struggle to find happiness after her best friend dies in childbirth. Release date for The Moth and the Butterfly is TBA, but we’ve already invested in a big box of tissues.
Inspirational Romance - Stephanie Grace Whitson's 2005 novel, A Garden in Paris, has been optioned by Bluestone Entertainment for a possible movie adaptation. The novel follows a young widow who travels to Paris in order to reunite with the love of her life.
PIQUING OUR CURIOSITY
Historical Romance - Set in a small town in Sussex, the characters in Helen Simonson’s upcoming novel Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand get one final idyllic summer before the horrors of an unimaginable war begin.
Women’s Fiction - Life in the Hamptons isn’t all it is cracked up to be. At least not when the family’s matriarch lords over her relatives. Brenda Janowitz’s Recipe for a Happy Life will be releasing from St. Martin’s Press.
Science Fiction - Just in time for the 100th anniversary of the publication of Edgar Rice Burroughs’ A Princess of Mars, Burroughs’ best known character John Carter will be getting a new collection of short stories. Edited by John Joseph Adams and containing new stories from well-known authors and illustrators, The New Adventures of John Carter of Mars will be released in Spring 2012.
