Forewords - The Books Before the Buzz

With our column, Forewords, we let readers know the latest book news about some of the web team's most-anticipated upcoming releases across the genres — just as the projects are announced!

Contemporary Romance - Business and pleasure collide in Erika Kelly’s debut, Leap of Faith, in which a professional recording industry assistant aims to make a name for herself by helping out one of rock’s biggest bad boys — a womanizer determined to make her his. Will she climb to the top of the corporate ladder, or risk her heart and lose it all? Release date TBA.

Erotic Romance - In case you were craving more of Lauren Dane’s sexy Seattle-set erotic stories, you’ll be happy come summer 2015, when Dane’s The Long Haul, the first in her Ink and Chrome series, hits shelves. Taking place in a Seattle custom car and motorcycle shop, we’re expecting more tattoos, attitudes and, of course, plenty of action.

Contemporary Romance - Sharpen your skates, hockey fans, because Charlene Groome’s His Game, Her Rules kicks of a new sports romance series, in which a straight-laced hockey skating coach is tempted by a man she can’t refuse. Release date TBA.

Mystery - Although The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo author Stieg Larsson left us too soon, his Millennium series — which he had intended to be 10 books long — will live on with a fourth book, penned by author David Lagercrantz. The book will be an original piece and not contain any parts of Larsson’s unfinished fourth book. Fans can expect this one in August 2015.

Paranormal Romance - Fans of Donna Grant’s Dark Kings series will be pleased to learn that the author has a short story, “Passion’s Claim,” planned. Set in her popular universe, with dragons who live in disguise amongst humans in order to protect their ancient magic, there's no release date yet!

Romantic Suspense - The deals just keep coming for talented romance author Maya Banks, who inked a seven-figure deal for three more books in her popular KGI series. No release dates or titles at the moment, but you better believe we can’t wait to read them!

Historical Fiction - History buffs, take note! Stephanie Thornton tells the story of Alexander the Great’s greatest lovers, including Roxana, in The Conqueror’s Wives, releasing in 2015.

Erotic Romance - Anne Calhoun’s The List will interest erotica fans seeking something a little different. The contemporary tale follows a married couple whose relationship is on the rocks. They vow to reenact the most significant moments of their marriage before they decide whether or not to part ways. Will old memories save their marriage? Release date TBA.

Mainstream - Stacey Ballis is serving up another culinary-themed novel with Recipe for Disaster, starring a woman whose entire life crumbles in the middle of her home renovation. She's inspired to put the pieces back together after she discovers a cookbook and journal left behind by her house’s original owners. We have a feeling readers can expect a recipe or two, as well! Release date TBA.

Urban Fantasy - Dresden Files fans, mark your calendars, because Jim Butcher’s Skin Game, the 15th in his popular series about paranormal detective Harry Dresden, has a release date! The book will hit shelves May 27th simultaneously in the U.S., UK, Australia and Canada.

New Adult - If you can’t get enough NA bad boys, you won’t want to miss Sybil Bartel’s Break, in which a boy described as having “more tattoos than common sense” meets a girl who makes him want to change his dangerous ways. Look for this ebook in June 2014.

These are this week's deals that we can’t wait to hear more about in the coming months. Check back every Monday for more Forewords and you can always visit our Upcoming Releases Page!
