AUTO-BUY AUTHORS

Thriller - Bestselling author Karen Robards is sure to thrill fans with her upcoming release The Latest Victim. The story follows the sole survivor of the Boardwalk Killer, a woman who just happens to also be the country’s leading expert on serial killers. She must once again stop her attacker who has returned to his old hunting ground of Virginia Beach. Publication date TBA.

RETURNING FAVORITE SERIES

Paranormal Romance - In the popular Dark Ink Chronicles series, tattoo artist Riley Poe is a vampire magnet, but she’s turned her curse into a gift by joining a group of paranormal investigators to help destroy three powerful fallen angels wreaking havoc on Edinburgh, Scotland. Author Elle Jasper will continue her series with Black Fallen. And while there is no word yet on the publication date, readers can catch up on the first two books in the series, 2010’s Afterlight and 2011’s Everdark. 

NEW SERIES ALERT

Historical Romance – Christie Kelley will kick off her newest series of historical romances with Bewitching the Duke. Details are scarce about this Regency era tale of romance but we will let you know when we hear more! 

Mystery – An amateur sleuth and her talking dog star in Waverly Curtis' first in the Sullivan and Sullivan Mystery series. Dial "C" For Chihuahua will introduce readers to the heroine and her courageous adopted dog, who, in addition to talking, has an “impeccable” sense of style.

Contemporary Romance – Katie Lane will continue her Deep in the Heart of Texas series with two more books. We couldn’t help but fall head over heels for the heroes of Going Cowboy Crazy and Make Mine A Bad Boy, so even though the books’ titles haven’t been announced yet, we are looking forward to meeting the new heroes whose tales will hit shelves in 2013.

EXCITING DEBUT AUTHORS

Mystery – Dexter fans will want to keep an eye out for Frank Wheeler's The Wowzer. Set in the Ozarks, a sociopath deputy tries to protect his crooked boss and win back the woman that he loves as a turf war rages in his county. 

Young Adult – A teen that is able to rewind her life and change the future must weigh the pros and cons of risking her life by going back in time to save her suicidal twin sister in Jessica Corra’s After You. No publication date has been announced yet but RT’s Whitney can’t wait for this tale that was pitched as Lauren Oliver’s Before I Fall meets Jandy Nelson’s The Sky is Everywhere.

PIQUING OUR CURIOSITY

Historical Romance – Go back in time to 1924 Kenya for Deanna Raybourn’s A Spear of Summer Grass. The story chronicles a plucky flapper heroine and the hunter she meets in the wilds of Africa. Publication date TBA.

Mainstream Fiction – The heroine of Crystal Chan's Bird was born on the day that hero brother Bird died, and her family has never recovered from the loss. When a new boy moves to this small town in Iowa, old secrets are revealed. 

Series Romance – Harlequin Nocturne fans, get ready for the story of a sexy Djinn assassin who is instantly smitten when he catches sight of his intended target in Mina Khan’s The Djinn's Dilemma. We can’t wait to see how the story unfolds — and whether or not this handsome hero lives in a lamp! 

Mystery – Derby Day by D.J. Taylor introduces a rake, a thief, a detective and Tiberius, a prize-winning horse. Their fates will all collide when the Derby takes place at Epsom Downs. Our fingers are crossed for a tale that will delight fans of Dick Francis’s novels and heist fiction!

MOVIE DEALS

Urban Fantasy – The director of Black Swan and Requiem for a Dream is taking on Daryl Gregory's Pandemonium, the story of a young man who is able to unlock the truth behind a spate of demonic possessions. However the cure for what is going on may be worse than the possessions themselves. There’s no date for when this film will be playing but we are looking forward to seeing this one in theaters.

TELEVISION TIE IN

Urban Fantasy – ABC television has picked up Amanda StevensThe Restorer. The same team that put together Off the Map and cult favorite Pushing Daisies is going to take a stab at this May 2011 tale that got an RT Top Pick!

NON-FICTION PICK

Current Affairs – Learn more about the female gang that is making India safer for women with Pink Sari Revolution by Amana Fontanella-Khan. The group, which has over 20,000 members, wears pink saris and uses pink batons to promote the political power of women and fight back against male abusers. The story of these real life heroines will hit shelves in Fall 2012. 

Memoir – The Receptionist will give fans of The New Yorker Magazine an insider’s look. The biography chronicles receptionist Janet Groth's twenty-one years at the magazine, from 1957 through 1978. There’s no pub date yet, but who doesn't want to read a memoir what promises to be a cross between The Devil Wears Prada and Mad Men
