Contemporary Romance - Author Robyn Carr has just sold the next nine books in her long running Virgin River series.
Young Adult - Melissa de la Cruz's final novel in the paranormal YA series Blue Bloods will be published in Fall 2012.
Paranormal Romance - Theresa Meyers will be releasing a novella and three new novels in her Shadow Sisters series. These stories will continue four sister’s ongoing battle to stop the dark fae from overtaking the human world.
Historical Romance - The next four books in Lynsay Sands' Argeneau Vampire series has been purchased by Avon.
NEW SERIES ALERT
Young Adult - Andrew Fukuda is releasing a trilogy about a boy who must pretend to be non-human so he can survive in a world where people are hunted down by government death squads. The first book in the series, The Hunt, will release Spring 2012.
Thriller - Frustrated by a “continuing disappointment in how female C.I.A. officers are portrayed in popular culture” former CIA agent Valerie Plame Wilson is co-authoring a series of suspense novels with Sarah Lovett. Beginning publication in 2012, the series will star a female operative who is involved in dangerous international missions.
First Lady Michelle Obama is writing a full color book about the garden in the South Lawn of the White House. The untitled hardcover will be releasing in April 2012 with a simultaneous enhanced e-book release. The First Lady will give readers a walk through the garden she has helped plant. Mrs. Obama will use this book as a platform to discuss her message about the importance of healthy eating habits. All proceeds from the book will go to charity.
EXCITING DEBUT AUTHORS
Historical Romance - Kristen Callihan's debut novel is a gothic retelling of Beauty and the Beast featuring a cursed lord who must surrender his humanity in order to protect his one true love. West of the Moon publishes in January 2012.
Young Adult - After her older sister dies from an apparent suicide, the teen in Carly Anne West's debut The Murmurings, starts to hear the same voices that drove her sister to a psychotic break. Release date TBA.
Urban Fantasy – Hundreds of years after an intentional global disaster, humanity has been rebuilt, but the utopian society is not perfect. There are nomads who refuse to bend to the dictates of the new world order. When a young woman living in the high-tech settlement is tasked with tracking down and killing these rebels, she must make up her mind which side she will be on. No word yet on when Ariel Djanikian’s debut novel The Office of Mercy will release but we are ready for what promises to be a wild ride!
PIQUING OUR CURIOSITY
Contemporary Romance - Known for her paranormal romances, author Jill Myles will begin publishing contemporary stories starting with When Sparks Fly. Writing as Jessica Clare, the first novel features a revenge-seeking heroine who wants to right past wrongs and is looking for retribution from the hottie who burned her when they were in high school.
Steampunk Romance – Zoe Archer’s upcoming Skies of Fire is set in an alternate steampunk universe where, thanks to implants, man and machine have merged and these enhanced soldiers are now used to power airships.
Women’s Fiction - Just because the ladies in Kim Gruenenfelder’s There’s Cake in My Future achieved their happily-ever-afters doesn’t mean their lives are perfect – as evidenced in the sequel titled Let Me Eat Cake. Release date TBA.
Paranormal Romance - When the daughter of a Guardian demon saves an archangel from his enemies, she becomes the target of their wrath. Sarah Gilman's Out In Blue will publish in Fall 2011.
