NEW SERIES ALERT
Erotica - Alison Kent will be thrilling readers with her Dalton Gang series with not one, not two, but three sexy cowboys! Dax, Boone and Casper raised hell as teens but now that they co-own a ranch, can they reform their images and find love that is as hot as the Texas sun? Today, the author shares an RT-exclusive look at her upcoming heroes:
Dax, Boone, and Casper, the heroes of my Dalton Gang series are, according to my good friend author Anne Calhoun, "Cowboys done right." What I didn't consciously start out to do, however, and only realized halfway through the second book, is write about three men who are as close as any brothers could be, yet came from incredibly disparate backgrounds.
Dax Campbell (Undeniable, 10/12) is the black sheep of one of the most prominent families in Crow Hill, Texas, a family of attorneys going back five generations. He was the first one to say no and go his own way, and he did so under the threat of being disinherited.
Casper Jayne (Unbreakable, 02/13) came to Crow Hill as a teenager with his vagabond parents to live in a house his father won in a poker game. His father abandoned them soon after, leaving him to live in near poverty with an alcoholic mother who'd never wanted him.
Boone Mitchell (Unstoppable, 06/13), is the son of the local high school football coach (think Friday Night Lights' Eric Taylor a few years older!) and had the most All-American upbringing of the three, yet rebelled at any parental restrictions.
That was when Boone's parents stepped in, sending him to work for the aging Tess and Dave Dalton, and telling Dax and Casper if they wanted to continue to hang out with him, they could do it at the Dalton's ranch. So they did, all three boys earning the Dalton's love and respect, and learning about friendship and hard work...while still getting into trouble as often as possible with the girls in town.
Now the boys are all grown up and ready for you to read. The first book Undeniable, won’t be in stores until fall but you can check out the cover and read an excerpt here.
Paranormal Romance - H.P. Mallory first introduced her "debonaire and enigmatic" vampire hero as a secondary character in the Jolie Wilkins series, but this fang-tastic man stole readers’ hearts with his mysterious ways. And now we’ll be able to sink our teeth into a yet-to-be-named, three-book series about this long-lived man of mystery. Publication Date: TBA.
Mystery - You’ve read all about forensic anthropologists, but have you ever met a forensic accountant? Author Ian Hamilton will introduce readers to a brilliant and beautiful one in his upcoming series, Ava Lee. This series starter will be in stores February 2013.
PIQUING OUR CURIOSITY
Contemporary Romance - Will a former Marine who has lived a reckless life be able to wrap his head around the idea that he does in fact deserve the love of a good woman … and that it’s someone from his past who wants to give this man his Happily Ever After? You can find out what happens to this tortured warrior in Anne Calhoun’s upcoming tale Unforgiven.
Young Adult - Amanda Stevens makes her YA debut with a paranormal mystery. When teen Mazzy Nightingale is attacked, she winds up in a coma. Mazzy discovers that her soul can hop from body to body, but can she figure out what attacked her (and how to wake up her own body) before her family shuts off her life support? Chrysalis will be available in February 2014.
Thriller - Purchase a ticket to attend the Carnival for the Dead, David Hewson’s upcoming mystery. When a forensics expert follows a twisting trail of clues through the heart of Venice’s Carnival, she hopes that they will lead her to her missing aunt. This Italian mystery will hit US shelves in fall 2012.
Mainstream Fiction - When an indie rocker tours Europe hoping to make a big comeback, she’ll be traveling through Wonderland in the upcoming novel from Stacey D’Erasmo. But will this songstress be able to recapture the joy of performing? You’ll have to check out this Spring 2014 novel for the answers.
Series Romance - Harlequin Intrigue readers will be thrilled (and chilled) by Jenna Ryan’s upcoming killer. This serial mastermind turns the past into a weapon while hunting a woman and a cop. We’re already freaked out and we haven’t even visited Raven’s Hollow.
Erotica - Karena Rose (and Charlotte Bronte) will transform the classic literary tale into much more steamy fare for Jane Eyrotica. With the trend of current erotic fiction we bet there will be some steamy scenes with a BDSM-bent, but the title does have us wondering if we can expect to see Grace Poole painted as a dominatrix. We won’t have long to wait to find out, the reboot will be in stores January 2013.
EXCITING DEBUT AUTHOR
Fantasy - Are two authors better than one? It will be up to readers to decide when newcomers Robert Rainone and Omey Nandyal release their debut novel. The writers have created a dystopian-set trilogy that centers on a collection of ancient books that hold the answers to human existence. Journey into the Flame, The Satraya Trilogy starter, will be available in Fall 2013.
Biography - Have you ever wondered about the first female British special agent during World War Two? Author Clare Mulley will answer your questions about the fascinating Christine Granville in 2013’s The Spy Who Loved. We can’t wait to learn more about this brilliant (and unsung) real-life heroine.
Cristina Alger debuted early this year with The Darlings, a tale about a wealthy family and the Ponzi scheme that they are involved in. However, this novel jumped off the page and is headed for the Bravo channel line-up as they extend their reach with scripted series.
Devine Intervention —and yes, that spelling is right — came out earlier this month from Martha Brockenbrough. The story about a guardian angel who accidentally kills the girl he’s supposed to be watching and then can’t get her into heaven … but may have just fallen in love with her will be coming to the silver screen. Zucker Productions (which has previously produced a range of films from Ghost to Airplane) will be working with Mrs. Doubtfire screenwriter Randi Singer to adapt this tale. So we’re anticipating a movie that is both heartfelt and hilarious!
