PIQUING OUR CURIOSITY

Historical Romance - Tracy Brogan takes on the Scottish brogue in Highland Surrender, a tale of clan intrigue and romance set amongst a plan to kill the king. Plot details are still unknown, but we are hoping for some great political intrigue as well as action packed scenes highlighting the Scots’ fury in this upcoming read.

Romantic Suspense - A woman running from her past in Rita Herron’s Dying to Tell is forced to confront it, and the love she’d left, when her twin sister faces charges of murder. Let’s hope her mirror image is innocent! Release date: TBA

Contemporary Romance - He’s a writer who can’t write and she’s an heiress with lots of money — Adrianne Wood’s Badlands Bride will bring us the tale of this odd couple in November 2012.

Young Adult - In a twisted tale of time travel and love, the heroine of Karen Akins’ Loop finds a love interest in the past who already is hiding secrets from her in the future. Dating is always hard, but this couple's story just may take the cake!

Urban Fantasy - Never antagonize the Lord of the Dead — that’s one of the lessons learned in Marc Turner’s When the Heavens Fall: Chronicles of the Exile Book One. In the story, one unlucky soul upsets the Lord and quickly discovers that death isn’t the final frontier — there’s a whole, horrid world beneath it.

Series Romance - Held hostage in the Middle East, Staci was rescued by a group of courageous Navy SEALs. But when she’s stalked at home, Liz Johnson’s Operation: Saving Staci kicks into full gear for a second time. This Love Inspired title is set to release in Spring 2013.

Erotic Romance - Newly freed from a bland marriage, a divorcee is looking to get her kicks in The Den, a BDSM club. And she goes straight to the source when her new, passionate experiences come from the club owner himself! Lynda Aicher’s Bonds of Trust just might be a must-buy for Fall 2012.

Contemporary Romance - Ten-year high school reunions aren’t as much fun for those who never left town, but the woman in Kate DaviesMost Likely to Succeed refuses to admit defeat. She may have set aside her dreams, but her returning classmates and crush don’t have to know. As long as she doesn’t claim she invented Post-Its (like Romy and Michele) she should be okay. At least we only have to wait about a year, and not ten, for this book to hit shelves in Spring 2013.

EXCITING DEBUT AUTHOR

Thriller - The FBI profiler of Elizabeth Heiter’s yet-to-be-titled debut novel discovers that the minds of serial killers are dark and deadly — and one just may be her undoing. We are very excited to get a new face in the fascinating world of psychological thrillers!

NON-FICTION PICK

Illustrated Art - Gypsey Elain Teague’s Steampunk Magic steams into stores in spring 2013 with a guide to all the genre’s fixins': spells, tools and magic. Oh, my! We are sooo ready for some great artwork from one of the most gorgeous trends to hit books in years.

TELEVISION TIE-IN

A British production company, Zodiak Kids UK, plans to bring the pre-teen twins of Carole Barrowman’s Hollow Earth to life. In the story, the talented-twosome have the ability to jump into works of art at will; an ability that makes them valuable to those who want to enter the demon-filled Hollow Earth. We can only imagine how much fun (and visually stunning!) this series is going to be.

MOVIE DEAL

Even before publication, Brandon Sanderson’s Steelheart has been scooped up and optioned by Hollywood. It is the story of a teen who sets out to avenge his father’s death at the hands of Steelheart, an Epic — a person who, in the near future, acquired super powers and uses them to subjugate the rest of the human race. It sounds like Steelheart will be facing someone with a brave heart!

These are this week's deals that we can’t wait to hear more about in the coming months. Check back every Monday for more Forewords!
