With our column, Forewords, we let readers know the latest book news about some of the web team's most-anticipated upcoming releases across the genres — just as the projects are announced!

NEW SERIES ALERT

Young Adult - Pitched as The Terminator meets Daenerys' Dragons from Game of Thrones, Mari Mancusi’s trilogy beginner Dragonbound follows a young girl who is said to hold the last dragon egg. With humanity on the brink of a full-on dragon war, can she learn to care for and tame the fantastical beast? Readers can expect the series first fiery read to hit shelves Summer 2013.

Paranormal Romance - If you like your fairy tales on the darker side, Marina Myles’ Beauty and the Wolf might be right up your alley. This new series starter tells the story of a woman who brings a curse upon herself by marrying a werewolf nobleman. This digital read will be available for download come Summer 2013.

PIQUING OUR CURIOSITY

Mainstream Fiction - Folk musician Woody Guthrie didn’t just write classic American tunes, he was a writer as well! The singer’s lone novel, House of Earth, has finally been sold for publication. The story focuses on two Texan farmers barely getting by during the Dust Bowl, and readers can look forward to an introduction by Douglas Brinkley and Johnny Depp! Release Date TBA.

Series Romance - Nocturne readers, get ready for a new novella from Vicki Lewis Thompson! About four brothers who together hold the magic that powers Santa’s sleigh, this story will head a paranormal anthology that readers can hopefully expect just in time for the holidays.

Erotic Romance - L.M. Adeline's S.E.C.R.E.T. starts off a “smart erotica series” that follows a young widow who discovers an underground society which aims to satisfy every woman’s sexual fantasies. This sounds like a modern re-telling of Kathryn Harvey’s Butterfly and we can’t wait to get our hands on it come February 2013!

Chick Lit - Thought Chick Lit was dead? Think again! Chicklitsnotdead.com co-founders Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke will be making their fiction debut — and combining all the elements they love about the genre with a touch of paranormal — with The Toast. Two best friends wake up the morning after their twentieth high school reunion only to find that they’ve switched bodies, and will learn to appreciate their lives by living someone else’s! Release date TBA.

MOVING TO PRINT

Contemporary Romance - Teresa Mummert's self-published Beautiful series will be getting a new home at Gallery books! The series starter, White Trash Beautiful, tells the story of a young woman living in a trailer park with a less-than-stellar life who gets swept off her feet when the lead singer of a rock band visits her diner. There’s no release date yet, but we’re hoping this tale of rags ends in riches!

DOWNLOAD AND GO

Young Adult - Bestselling author Lauren Kate is returning with a new series about a teenage girl whose tears hold the magic needed to raise Atlantis! The Teardrop series will begin in fall 2013 and will feature three novels and well as three e-exclusive short stories.

Historical Romance - When the hero of Dora Mekouar's Tempting Bella spots a gorgeous woman at the opera, he has no idea the two already share a past as teens! This story of second chances is part of a two-book deal scheduled for publication in fall 2013.

EXCITING DEBUT AUTHOR

Suspense - If you like your suspense chock full o’ mind games, keep an eye out for new author Elisabeth Elo’s The Whalebone Chronicle. This psychological suspense story follows a woman with the unique ability to fare well in extremely cold climates, and she discovers something very fishy about the boating accident that killed her friend, but she survived. Readers can snatch up this tale come early 2014.

NONFICTION PICK

Pop Culture - Suzette Field offers readers a hilarious, informative guide to literature’s best parties with A Curious Invitation. There’s no release date yet, but in the meantime you can check out our guide to throwing a great regency bash on the RT Daily Blog tomorrow!

We’re excited to meet this brawny new hero — whether it be on screen or in print!

These are this week's deals that we can’t wait to hear more about in the coming months. Check back every Monday for more Forewords!
