With our column, Forewords, we let readers know the latest book news about some of the web team's most-anticipated upcoming releases across the genres — just as the projects are announced!

Contemporary Romance - Molly O’Keefe will soon be treating readers to a sexy contemporary romance series with Wild Hearts, the story of a bodyguard and the woman he must keep safe, and Wild Nights, about a woman whose hunky new biker neighbor and his son change her life. Release dates: TBA.

Young Adult - Jennifer L. Armentrout will continue to write in the paranormal YA genre for her next series, which will follow a demon/gargoyle teen who goes against her clan and the boy she loves to partner with a demon who claims he can keep her safe from dark elements. Set for publication in 2014.

Romantic Suspense - M.L. Buchman is delivering another thrilling dose of romantic suspense with series starter Firehawk, a military suspense tale that introduces a group of former special ops pilots who use Black Hawk helicopters to fight fires … and the women who love them, of course! Firehawk will be on shelves in Spring 2014.

Paranormal Romance - Great news for Christine Feehan fans, it doesn’t look like this author is slowing down anytime soon! This auto-buy author has just sold three more books in her Dark series and another book in her Sisters of the Heart series. We will be sure to update readers when release dates for these books are announced.

Mystery - We’ve already been to Michelle Rowen’s Blood Bath and Beyond and look forward to visiting her Bled and Breakfast in June, and luckily for us there will be one more paranormal adventure in her Immortality Bites series. Amateur sleuth Sarah Dearly and her vampire fiancé return in From Fear to Eternity. Release date: TBA.

Historical Romance - What do you get when you combine a stubborn duke who’s given up on love, an independent duchess and an arranged marriage? Sophia Nash’s upcoming novel, The Once and Future Duchess. Release date TBA. In the meantime, you can get an excerpt of the author's latest novel, The Duke Diaries, here.

Fantasy - Lizzie Borden was a villain, right? Not so fast says Cherie Priest in her next novel Maplecroft. In the story, the 19th century axe-wielding legend and her scientist sister hunt down the real baddies responsible for their parent’s death — creatures so fierce that they could destroy all of humanity. Release date: TBA.

Series Romance - Carol Ericson’s upcoming Harlequin Intrigue miniseries follows four law enforcement brothers who are determined to hunt down a serial killer responsible for their cop father’s death. The first book will be releasing in 2014.

Contemporary Romance - Kelsie Leverich’s self-published story The Valentine’s Arrangement is getting a re-release with Penguin’s digital imprint, InterMix. Featuring a fiery tattoo artist heroine and a military hero who agree with a no-strings-attached fling, the two soon realize they may not be able to say goodbye when it’s time for the soldier to return to war.

Young Adult - Sara B. Larson debuts with Defy, about a member of the prince’s guard who turns out to be a girl masquerading as a boy … a girl who might have more than friendly feelings for the prince. Expected publication date: Spring 2014.

Pop Culture - What would you eat during the zombie apocalypse? We know zombies would be hungry for brains with a side of arms and legs, but what about the lucky ones who haven’t turned? In food blogger and cooking teacher Lauren Wilson’s guide The Art of Eating through the Zombie Apocalypse, she shares her culinary tips and tricks for surviving the zombie apocalypse on a full stomach — from how to purify water to how to cook worms! Release date: TBA.

Josin McQuein’s debut YA novel Arclight doesn’t hit shelves until April, but this futuristic tale has already been optioned for film. Set in a post-apocalyptic world where humans live in outposts surrounded by a protective wall of light, the story follows a teen girl with no memory who must discover how she survived the Dark before the Light.
