Looking to add a few books to your TBR pile? In our column "If You Like ... You'll Love" RT staffers and reviewers will pick one new read and then suggest three other books that hold the same appeal. Today we look at this month’s new release Tempted Again by Cathie Linz.

Author Cathie Linz has penned 57 novels since she began writing in 1982. She is best known for her series novels and, of course, her popular contemporary romance series, Girls Do (and Don’t). In her latest novel, Tempted Again, librarian Marissa Bennet has just returned to her small hometown of Hopeful, Ohio, only to discover that her old flame, Conner Doyle, has also come back. He’s now the town’s sheriff and he doesn’t even recognize Marissa … at first. Will working together on a community-building project help this couple find true love the second time around? The story, which received an RT rating of four stars, has RT’s Debbie saying, “This delightful contemporary romance will warm up a cold winter’s day. The characters that fill these pages are all memorable, the romance is touching and realistic and the love scenes are hot enough to melt snow — and your heart.”

Matching The Cop Hero ...

My Hero by Marianna Jameson is a terrific contemporary romance novel. And because the heroine is a romance author, we’ll be using some special terminology for this explanation. You’ll fall HoH (that’s head over heels) for Chas Casey, the sexy detective from Stamford, who is reluctantly letting romance author Miranda Lane do a tag-along. However, when Miranda’s research jeopardizes Chas’ career, it’s clear that what seemed like fun and games is actually incredibly serious. Will Miranda be able to write the HEA (that’s Happily Ever After) that she wants with Chas into their future? You’ll have to pick up your own copy of 2005’s My Hero to find out!

Matching The Second Chance At Love Element ...

RT’s new Executive Editor Mala suggests, “If Tempted Again has you dreaming of old loves who become new again, then you should pick up a copy of Honest Illusions by Nora Roberts. This classic story of former teenage sweethearts — and expert illusionists — Roxanne Nouvelle and Luke Callahan takes readers on a sweeping journey that spans years and is fraught with just as many sleights of hand and tricks and treats as a top carnival magic show. Hero Luke is part David Blaine, part David Copperfield, all man and back after years away to claim the woman he loves; but why did he leave in the first place, and will Roxy’s explosive secret destroy their fragile new partnership? For the answers, pick up 2010's Honest Illusions — because when it comes to pulling a romantic rabbit out of a silk top hat, nobody does it better than La Nora!”

Matching The “Love Scenes [That] Are Hot Enough To Melt Snow — And Your Heart” ...

If you’re still looking to turn up the (fictional) heat, you should check out a copy of the 2010 novel Welcome to Temptation by Jennifer Crusie. Amateur filmmakers Sophie Dempsey and sister have travelled to the small town of Temptation for work, but it’s not long before she and the town’s handsome mayor, Phin T. Tucker, are burning up the sheets (and a dock and the hood of a car and a pool table...you get the picture). Unfortunately, the situation doesn’t look good for this couple when they end up on the opposite sides of an anti-porn legislation that is being pushed through Temptation’s local government because of Sophie’s film. Lucky for Sophie and Phin (and us) these characters are like high-powered magnets: nothing can keep them apart. The result is some incredibly funny, sweet and creative “adult moments.” We're not going to lie, after one particularly memorable scene, you’ll forever think about bears in a whole new light …

(And it’s worth mentioning, Welcome to Temptation has something else in common with Tempted Again, and it’s not just the “tempting” title, Crusie’s novel is also set in Ohio!)

Does Cathie Linz’s Tempted Again make you think of any other books, or is there a different aspect of this story that you’d like a suggestion for? Let us know in the comments below! For more great contemporary romance reads, head over to our Everything Romance Page.
