This month's RT Seal of Excellence winner is Karen Robards' Sleepwalker. This new romantic suspense novel swept the RT editors off their feet, so we asked the author which scene in the story she loved. Find out which scene takes the cake — and then enter to win your own copy of this brilliant book!
One of my favorite scenes from Sleepwalker is this exchange, which makes me smile every time I read it. I love the characters of Mick and Jason, and I feel it showcases their personalities and relationship. Mick the cop and Jason the crook were never even supposed to meet. When circumstances (okay, a botched robbery) threw them together, she wanted to arrest him, and he — well, he thought she was hot, but escape was actually what he had in mind. They were natural enemies who never meant to fall in love — but they did. I had a great time telling their story, and I hope readers enjoy it as well.

I like stories about cops and robbers but I must say that cops in books or on TV are usually much more attractive than in real life! Perhaps that is one of the reasons I so enjoy them in fiction.

I love stories about cops and robbers because there is an element of the chase and the illicit thrill of going against the rules. Of course the robber character must have a compelling and believable reason for what he has done.

why I love stories about cops

My brother is a cop, and has always been a hero to me. He often can't tell the specifics about cases he's involved with, but he's always there to"fact check" fictional stories--giving me the best of both worlds.

I love the cops and Robbers types of books because I love that there is more to the story than just small town life. I love that there is more mystery, which also usually includes murders and Alpha males :D And who doesn't love an Alpha male!?

I like books about cops and robbers because it is the classic good vs bad, and the good always wins, mostly. I like how the cops try to figure out the motives and next move that a bad guy is going to make. And, there is just something really attractive about cops!!
I find them a lot of fun

I find them a lot of fun because the suspense and common goal of the hero & heroine usually brings them together quite quickly & lets them learn about each others strengths.

I love a sexy suspense story about cops and robbers. I love a mystery or who done it. Throw in a sexy cop or a hunky robber and you have a great story. Would love to win sleepwalkers.

I love the complexity of developing romance as well as the 'thrill' of the good guys vs. the bad guys.
There usually is a lot of suspense and mystery as to what the outcome will be and how the main characters get the 'Happily Ever After'.
