Magazine Extras: How To Make Author Amanda Usen's Sweet And Sour Peanut Sauce

And as an extra special treat, today we are bringing you the Sweet and Sour Peanut sauce recipe that goes along with Usen's "Scrumptious Thai Pot Stickers" that make an appearance in the author's debut novel Scrumptious, before the book hits shelves in January!

Sweet and Sour Peanut Sauce

1 cup rice wine vinegar

1 cup sugar

2 tablespoons soy sauce

Sriracha or hot chili sauce, to taste

1 tablespoon chopped garlic

1 teaspoon fish sauce (optional)

1/4 cup chopped peanuts

Heat the vinegar and sugar in a saucepan until the sugar dissolves. Add soy sauce. Cook for 10 minutes over moderately high heat, until the sauce thickens just a bit. Remove from heat. Add chili-garlic sauce, fish sauce and garlic. Stir. Cool. Add chopped peanuts before serving.
