Media Bistro To Host Interactive Online Literary Conference

You don’t have to live in New York City in order to get a “NYC publishing world”-quality experience. This summer Media Bistro will host their first-ever interactive online conference.

If you’re an aspiring (or published) author you should definitely consider registering. For a three-week-long period, from July 16th through August 1st, the company will host a plethora of events to help you get your brain in gear and your book whipped into bestseller shape.

Whether you write fiction or non-fic works, there’s something for everyone during this online event. Workshops, discussions and speeches headed by industry leaders, from authors to literary agents and Media Bistro staffers. The program kicks off on Monday, July 16th at noon with a keynote speech from bestselling author Susan Orlean. This is first of six live video conference sessions, which will be held in conjunction with a small group writing workshop. Some of the other workshop leaders that have been announced are author and child psychologist Sarah Fine and Jason Allen Ashlock, the president of Movable Type Management.

Over the course of the three weeks, the interactive online workshops will cover a variety of different topics. Some will focus on writing craft, like how to write compelling first pages or short stories, while others feature specialty topics like writing romances with chemistry or believable fantasy and science fiction worlds and beyond. There will also be opportunities to learn more about the business of writing with panels like “Query letter writing.”

You can see the entire line-up of announced panels here. But if one interests you, be sure to register soon, each class is capped at 15 participants!

There will also be how-to demonstrations, discussion board conversations which will allow writers valuable networking opportunities, professionals available to help you workshop your projects in progress and more. (We were particularly thrilled to hear that the conference also comes with a membership to a Summer reading group as well!)
