Have you worked hard all year long? Author Jill Shalvis wants you to remember to pamper yourself — and she's giving you the tools to do so in the comfort of your own home!
In the author's new release, Head Over Heels, heroine Chloe finally opens the Day Spa she's always dreamed of having in the inn she runs with her two sisters. And along the way she catches the eye of hunky town sheriff Sawyer Thompson.
To celebrate the release of her new Lucky Harbor romance, the author is giving away a Home Spa Day for one lucky winner and her two closest friends! The prize includes three luxurious terry-cloth lined robes, three spa tools kits and three Stress Management aromatherapy kits (along with three free copies of the book, of course).
Six runners-up will win a pedicure kit and a copy of the book. And everyone who enters the contest will receive an emailable PDF with an exclusive do-it-yourself foot cream recipe.
To enter, just tell us which two friends you would invite to your spa day — and why — in the comments below. Or, e-mail your answer, along with your U.S. mailing address, here with the subject "Jill Shalvis Spa Giveaway." This contest is open to U.S. residents only.
We are super excited to hear about who you would take on your spa day (and why), but first, we had to ask Jill Shalvis about her own picks! Here's what she had to say:
Which two friends would I invite for my at-home spa day? You mean after I did the happy dance for even having an at-home spa day? Not that anyone wants to see my happy dance... I would invite my teenage daughters, who actually inspired my Lucky Harbor series. I realize that's three people and not two but I've never been one to follow directions all that well. And my daughters have all worked so hard this year at their studies, not to mention living with a mother on deadline and giving up normal meals and clean socks and the like with nary a complaint. Um, mostly.
***
Grand Prize: Home Day Spas and copies of the book for one lucky winner and two friends!

Six runners-up will win a pedicure kit and a copy of the book.

***
GIVEAWAY ALERT: One lucky reader will win a home day spa plus copies of Head Over Heels for herself (or himself!) and two friends. Six runners-up will win a pedicure kit, plus copies of the book. Everyone who enters will recieve an e-mailable PDF of a DIY foot cream recipe. To enter, tell us which two friends you would invite to your spa day and why. Leave your comments below or email us here with the subject "Jill Shalvis Spa Giveaway." This contest is open to U.S. residents only. The winners will be announced December 16.

I would like to include my sister and oldest daughter for the spa day. My sister is also my best friend, we've spent our entire lives sharing our highs and our lows and been a therapist for each other when the need arose. My oldest daughter is also a best friend and nurtures and cares for everyone, including her mother and her Aunt. She's nursed us back to health, spoiled us, and generally helped the entire family with her gifts and talents. All of us could use a spa day right now, and would enjoy the day even more if we were together to laugh, tease and relax!!

I would share it with my Mom and my best friend, Virginia. I would share with my mom because she works far too hard and deserves a little pampering in her life. And I would have to share with Virginia because it's a tradition for us to paint our toenails and watch Grey's Anatomy. She's the best so there's no one else I'd rather do that with.

If I won this fabulous gift, I would give one to my older brother and one to my mom. My brother has gone through a divorce in the past year. He has 2 school age kids still at home and 2 more in college. He is both mom and dad since his wife has all but disappeared from the family dynamic. Mom is great. She is handicapped and retired but always looking for ways to help others.

Thanks for the giveaway! If I won this prize, I would include my mom and my girlfriend Danielle. First, my mom is awesome. She is the absolute greatest. She is always givivng of herself to her family, friends, church, etc. She totally deserves this. Secondly, my friend Danielle just recently went through a very bad breakup with her ex. She is a single mom raising a beautiful teenage daughter, and we all know the challenges involved with that. She is the best friend in the world, and she deserves every happiness in the world.

Wow! What a spectacular giveaway! I would invite my two friends, Wendy and Natasha, who have been with me through good times and bad. They pushed me to do my very best and let me cry on their shoulders when I am down. Our latest accomplishment was to get me to finish my Master's thesis that I have neglected for two years. I completed it and got it approved on Friday so now I have a Master's degree. I am super excited and would love to share this spa giveaway with them. I am truly honored to have such amazing friends!

I would invite:
1. My daughter, single mother of 23month old Colin Patrick, Hollie. Hollie needs a Spa Day - These hard times have fallen hard hard hard on her. She has a seasonal part time job at Michael's, babysits for 3 different people trying to bring in money to make ends meet.
Black Friday Hollie's work schedule was
Michaels: 5:45am to 12:30pm
Sitting Job 1: 1:00pm to 7:00pm
Sitting Job 2: 8:00pm to 1:00pm
She is also having to find a new apt by Jan 1 or moving home (hard on a 22 year old to consider).
2. My friend and neighbor Patty. We have been friends for 22 years and 12 years ago her husband had a fall and had severe brain damage. She has held her family together giving her all for them and keeping very little for herself. No matter what, if I need her, she is there...a true friend.
I would love to have Spa day with these two women, who put their families first and themselves last. I am already a winner, having them in my life, but would love to indulge them also!

I try to be there for my mom (although not real easy as I'm 650 miles away), and my best friend has always been there for me. If I had to pick two friends they would have to be...
1) Haley - I met Haley 12 years ago when we worked together at Little Caesars Pizza. We got engaged within 6-months of each other, married within 6-months and had our first children 8-months apart... we are kindred spirits. Haley works as a maternity nurse and has two children now. She never ever says no to helping out, will skip sleep to offer you all she has... whether it be in the form of physical labour, a shoulder to cry on or a coffee drop-off on a sleepy day. She is the best friend any girl could have and she deserves a spa package more than anyone I know.
2) Laurie - I have known Laurie for 30 of my 33 years and we are still the closest of friends. Laurie has been through a rough time lately as she is in her mid-thirties, unattached, living alone and working full-time. Hearing her biological clock ticking is really making her feel down in the dumps and a spa package would be an amazing treat for her!
Thanks for the opportunity Jill!
Love you novels!

I would have to say I would pick my best friend Becki and my mom. My friend Becki has made some major changes in her life to better herself over the last year. She went to therapy to deal with past abuse and alcoholism that runs in the family. She made the decision not to drink at all so as to not follow in her families footsteps. I am so proud of her and all that she has accomplished. And then there is my mom, last year my step-dad injured himself on the job and hasn't worked since. My mom took on a second job and was working 70 hours a week so that they could keep the house so my brother wouldn't have to change schools. She deserves a day of pampering for all the hard work she has done. thankfully my husband and I were in a place that we were able to get out of our lease and move in with them to help cover the bills and she was able to quit the second job last month, but now she has my two year old following her everywhere. I think that she really deserves the spa day. As for myself well all I have to say is I have a 2 year old that goes to work with me and we are constantly on the move. I would love a day to put my feet up and just relax, cause as a mom I don't think we ever have enough time to just do something for yourselves. Thanks for having such an awesome contest and Good luck to everyone who entered.

I would also bring my best friend, Crystal, who stays home to take care of not only her children but her husbands, one of the kids being a teenager. She also hold the family together.

I would invite my sister, Ruth, and her daughter, Jenni. They are both such deserving gals and the three of us sitting together giggling as we're pampering ourselves would be such bliss. My sister lost her husband not long ago and I don't think she has ever treated herself to a real pedicure. My niece is a busy working mother and deserves to be pampered. Making THEM happy this way would, in turn, make ME very happy!

A relaxing opportunity for 3 hardworking women
Submitted by Landra Graf (not verified) on December 3, 2011 - 12:49pm.
A spa day would be the most blissful treat for myself and 2 ladies who work non-stop. Sacrifice is our middle name. What do we do? Well we run a dog rescue together. It's a tough, but fulfilling enterprise. Between conference calls, hundreds of hours spenting emailing and messaging about our sweet dogs, vet runs and transports the 3 of us try to maintain some sembalance of normalcy in our homes.
Add in the fact that 1 of my rescue workers watches children during the week, and I work a full-time job; everything is a little overwhelming but we get it done. The ladies I work with deserve this for all their hard work and resolve. We've had moments where we thought to give up, but these two never did. It would be the best Christmas gift ever!

I would invite my friend Donna, who is also my boss. We have been working hard for several months trying to raise 3M dollars to put an addition onto our library and we are both stressed out to the max. The other person I would invite is my friend and tenant, Jessica, who will be starting a new job as a Teen Librarian. She is happy but stressed trying to wrap everything while wondering about her new situation.
Whoever wins, I am sure they will enjoy the experience. I think we are all stressed out in these difficult times and reading is one of the big stress reducers in my life and I am sure in many others.
