2011 is not the only thing coming to an end. Readers also must say goodbye to Richelle Mead’s Dark Swan series. The final book, Shadow Heir, an RT Top Pick! is releasing today. And through the whole series, Eugenie continues her work of making the (Other)world a better place. In Thorn Queen she must get to the bottom of a string of fae disappearances. 2010’s Iron Crowned finds her tracking down a mystical artifact that may be able to create peace across the land. And finally in Shadow Heir our heroine must figure out a way to stop the complete destruction of the Otherworld. 

All together that equals four high-energy adventures (one published each year, thank you Ms. Mead!) which each rated 4 ½ stars or above. In summary, think RT’s Senior Reviewer Jill M. Smith says it best, “Over the course of this tumultuous series, Mead has taken her gutsy heroine on one amazing and truly treacherous journey, all culminating in this unforgettable finale.
