The 2013 RT Booklovers Convention is officially less than one month away! Taking place in Kansas City, MO from May 1 - 5, this year we are celebrating 30 years of great RT conventions. With a huge list of panels, parties and other great happenings, we are going genre-by-genre to spotlight authors you will want to meet and events you won’t want to miss.
We've already looked at the Paranormal/Urban Fantasy, Erotic Romance and Contemporary Romance programs, so today Contemporary Romance is our focus. But remember, this is just a taste, a complete list of events can be found at the full convention schedule.
And if you are interested in what you see, registration is still open! Go here for the FULL CONVENTION REGISTRATION, which gives you access to events taking place Wednesday, May 1 through Sunday, May 5. Also available on the registration page are DAY PASSES and WEEKEND PASSES, to fit any schedule and budget.

HISTORICAL ROMANCE EVOLVES
Authors Renee Bernard, Eileen Dreyer, Elizabeth Hoyt, Laura Kinsale, Delilah Marvelle and Bertrice Small believe in happily ever after, which is not surprising since that is all these ladies write! But what drives them to create couples that can overcome any obstacle? Attend the panel The Invention of Romance (Wed., May 1 - 1:15 - 2:15 p.m.) to find out these authors' secrets!
ROMANCE SET IN THE PAST HAS A GREAT FUTURE
What can historical fans expect next? Victoria Alexander, Cathy Maxwell, Robin Schone, Heather Snow and more answer this question as they explain how Historical Romance is Alive and Well (Fri, May 3 - 3:45 - 4:45 p.m.), and fabulous!
EVERYONE LOVES A PARTY
Sure, England is fine, but what’s wrong with celebrating a good-old fashioned throw down set right here in the U.S. of A.? Rosie Gulch's Gals will be entertaining the masses at their Get-Together (Wed, May 1 - 6:15 - 7:15 pm) which will have you dusting off your saloon skirts and plumed hat. And don’t forget your pantaloons since hosts Amanda McIntyre, Monica Burns, Elizabeth Essex, Shana Galen, Sabrina Jeffries, Mia Marlowe, Sharon Page, Bobbi Smith, Mary Wine and many more will be wanting to see you in your Friday evening best!
COME TO PLAY
How well do you know the Regency period? Get your facts right and you can win prizes at FAN-tastic Day’s Regency Feud (Sat., May 4 - 2:30 - 3:30 pm). Authors Claudia Dain, Tammy Falkner, Sabrina Jeffries, Deb Marlowe and Ava Stone will quiz readers on their knowledge of the most popular time period in historical romance.
