Snapshot: What's Next, What We're Nostalgic For And What's Noteworthy
In last week's Snapshot we asked author Lauren Dane what she was reading, researching and ready for. Her answers got us thinking about which books we will be diving into next, the ones we're nostalgic for and which recently read title is noteworthy.
I've been keeping up with the fantastic Maiden Lane series and can't wait to finally get my hands on Silence Hollingbrook's story!
Before I start a new historical I always remember the first time I read this book. It is my gold standard for excellence in historical romance. If you haven't checked it out, you absolutely should!
I got my hands on a review copy of this fantastic new paranormal YA story. With this tale the author leaves vampires and ghosts behind for ... fairies! (And I'm not talking the Tinkerbelle-type.)
I've been meaning to pick this up after it got a Top Pick in our September issue, and C.E. Murphy will be one of the authors at NY Comic Con this weekend, so tonight is the perfect time to get started on my next read.
The Golden Age of Sci Fi
After writing about Jamie Todd Rubin's "vacation" back to the Golden Age of Sci Fi, I'm hankering for some classic science fiction anthologies.
Vegan Pie in the Sky
With the holidays almost upon us, you may have that one odd vegan family member coming to dinner. If you want to accomodate, but know nothing about vegan cooking, I suggest dessert. The omnivores at your table wont even be able to tell the difference!
RT Editor Liz French
Land co-wrote this non-fic book with Robert Fitzpatrick, the aforementioned FBI agent, and it’s very timely: Authorities just recently captured notorious Boston gangster Whitey Bulger in California after many years. If you saw Martin Scorsese’s 2006 film The Departed, the ruthless gangster played by Jack Nicholson was based on Bulger.
This book has been staring at me from my TBR shelf at work for so long, it may as well be something I'm nostalgic for. We won’t even get into how many books I have in the home version of the TBR shelf!
Known for her blog Smart Bitches, Trashy Books, this is Sarah Wendell’s fantastic paean to romance. I'll be blogging about this book on the RT site next week, so stay tuned!
